The Illinois Press Association awards the David B. Kramer Trophy annually to the state's best non-daily newspaper with a circulation of less than 3,000. Jerry Nowicki was the editor of the LeRoy Farmer City Press and the lone full-time employee of the publication when it was awarded the trophy in 2015. Nowicki's LeRoy Farmer City Press took home 15 Illinois Press Association awards that year for various design, sports, news, photography and headline writing categories, including General Excellence and Community Service. Nowicki earned 33 Illinois Press Association awards in his three years at the Press.
